“The Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine” states:
ophryon is black, indicating that the function of human heart is poor ,insufficient blood supply to the brain, cerebral ischemia and hypoxia, and even myocardial necrosis;
ophryon is very red， indicating that dyslipidemia, high blood pressure, bad temper and easy stroke;
ophryon is yellow, indicating that insufficiency of vital energy and blood of human body and the spleen and stomach are weak.
《黄帝内经·灵枢·五色篇》所述：
印堂发黑，说明人体心脏功能不佳、脑部供血不足、心脑缺血缺氧，甚至有心肌坏死的情况；
印堂过红，代表血脂异常、血压高、脾气大、易中风；
印堂发黄，说明人体气血不足、脾胃虚弱等。
