The physiological characteristics of the spleen and stomach vary greatly. The spleen prefers dryness and dislikes dampness, while the stomach prefers moistening and dislikes dryness. Both have distinct personalities, but the stomach is responsible for storage and the spleen is responsible for transportation. That is to say, the stomach mainly stores food in it for initial processing, followed by digestion and absorption by the spleen, converting food into refined nutrients.
脾胃的生理特性大有不同。脾喜燥恶湿，而胃却喜润恶燥，两者个性十足，但是胃主收纳，脾主运化。也就是说，胃主要是将食物收纳其中，进行初步处理，接下来则由脾进行消化吸收，将食物化为精微营养物质。
